To President-elect Obama and Vice President-elect Biden

President-elect Obama and Vice President-elect Biden,

Sirs, I want you to know that I did not vote for you, but I believe that God has installed you into these positions. I will not argue or fight against God's will and I pray that He bless you as you enter into leadership of the greatest country on earth. Please know that I am praying for both of you and for the rest of our elected officials.

It is the role of good government to identify core issues and patterns that are damaging to its citizens and to use it's influence, and power when necessary, to resolve them.

I envision a country where people are truly equal in value, from the unborn baby to the dying grandmother. A place where marriages are supported and parents have the support of the government to raise their children.

In this country the government enforces and upholds things that are natural and gives no support to things that are not. It understands the fundamental value of a marriage between one man and one woman and actively works to help couples build up their marriages. It knows that by helping to strengthen marriages and families many of our core issues will resolve themselves.

I am not usually in favor of government programs but I have an idea for two. One that will use the influence of the government to help the citizens of this country understand the value of good marriages and will make help available for those who are struggling in their marriages. The other will use the influence of the government to help citizens of this country understand the value of babies and will make help available to those who are struggling with unwanted pregnancies to get their babies to families who will lovingly raise them.

These two initiatives could literally change the face of this country for the better within a single generation.

Thank you for the opportunity to share this with you and may God bless you and this country as you transition into your new roles.
